Self-Reported Sleep Disturbance and Amyloid Burden in Mid-Life Cognitively Normal Adults

Alterations in sleep are potential risk factors for dementia, including Alzheimer disease (AD). To investigate the association between sleep issues and amyloid burden, researchers recruited 98 cognitively normal adults (mean age, 62.4±5.7 years) who completed the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) to assess somnolence and the Medical Outcomes Study (MOS) Sleep Scale to assess sleep disturbance, somnolence, sleep adequacy, snoring, dyspnea or headache upon awakening, and sleep quantity.
