Background

The 2016 childhood immunization schedule provides up-to-date information, including explanatory footnotes offering guidance on catch-up vaccination and vaccine administration in special circumstances.

Key Points

The order of vaccines on the schedule is now from earliest to latest age of administration.
Meningococcal B vaccine has been added to the schedule; it is recommended for high-risk children at 10 years of age, and may be considered for children 16–18 years of age.
