Investigators assessed adherence to a new sepsis pathway implemented at a New York pediatric tertiary care hospital. During implementation, a multidisciplinary team of residents, hospitalists, emergency physicians, critical care physicians, nurses, and technicians received education on the sepsis pathway and feedback on cases. Other measures included posting the pathway in key areas, creating an electronic order set, and running mock sepsis codes.
