Dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1)–receptor agonists are classes of antidiabetes agents known as incretin-based drugs. In the SAVOR-TIMI 53 trial, the DPP-4 inhibitor saxagliptin (Onglyza) was associated with excess incidence of hospitalization for heart failure.
