Researchers in the United Kingdom aimed to measure outcomes after arterial ischemic stroke in children (aged 29 days to <16 years) identified through the National Health Service. One year after stroke, a pediatrician measured outcomes at a home visit or by interviewing the treating clinician. The Pediatric Stroke Outcome Measure (PSOM), a scale of neurological function, and the Pediatric Stroke Recurrence and Recovery Questionnaire (RRQ), completed by caregivers, were the primary study measurements.
