The USPSTF has updated its 2008 evidence statement and recommendations for screening asymptomatic adults at average risk for colorectal cancer (NEJM JW Gen Med Nov 15 2008 and Ann Intern Med 2008; 149:627). The Task Force finds strong evidence that middle-aged patients (age range, 50–75) will benefit from screening and has updated its recommendations on testing strategies.
