A growing body of evidence suggests that statin use in patients with hepatitis C virus infection reduces fibrosis progression. To evaluate the effect of statin use among patients with hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, researchers compared outcomes between statin users and nonusers in a population-based cohort of HBV-infected patients in Taiwan.
