Despite the increasing use of fertility treatment (including assisted reproductive technologies) to help couples build families, information about the health of the resulting children remains sparse. In this long-term analysis of data from a large Danish birth cohort initiated in 1989 (>5000 eligible singleton children), investigators surveyed the children's parents about school difficulties at ages 9–11 years and assessed school grades at ages 16, 17, and 19 as well as military conscription intelligence test scores at age 19. In all, 210 children were born as a result of fertility treatment, 334 were conceived naturally after >12 months of trying (defined as subfertility), 2661 were conceived naturally within 12 months, and 1827 were born …
