With the aging of the population, an increasing percentage of the population is expected to receive antithrombotic medications. Antiplatelet agents and anticoagulants are frequently used for prevention of atherosclerotic events or stroke. Researchers conducted a case-control study in Denmark to evaluate the association of antithrombotic medication use with subdural hematoma (SDH). In the study, 10,010 patients (age range, 20–89; mean age, 69.2; 35% women) with a diagnosis of SDH were compared with 400,380 individuals from the general population.
