The majority of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (cHL) patients who achieve complete remission with induction therapy are cured of their disease. When recurrences do occur, most arise within the first 5 years.
To assess the frequency of later relapse, investigators performed a retrospective analysis of patients enrolled in sequential German Hodgkin Study Group (GHSG) trials involving both early- and advanced-stage cHL patients. Those who relapsed after 5 years in remission were compared with those who relapsed ≤5 years after diagnosis and with those who remained in remission after 5 years.
