Thrombosis on leaflets has been reported with transcatheter and surgical bioprosthetic aortic valves and is often detected as reduced leaflet motion on high-resolution computed tomography (CT) scans. In an investigation employing two registries, researchers examined the contemporary prevalence of reduced leaflet motion in bioprosthetic valves and assessed its relationship with anticoagulation and antithrombotic therapy. Valves placed surgically or by transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) were investigated.
