This retrospective analysis used the 2007–2010 edition of the U.S. National Trauma Data Bank to identify characteristics of traumatically injured patients who survived to hospital discharge after receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) within 1 hour after arrival at a trauma center.
Of the 19,310 patients whose records were reviewed, only 2640 received CPR within 1 hour of hospital arrival. Of these, 13% survived to discharge.
