Treatment Beyond Progression with Nivolumab in Advanced Renal Cancer

Nivolumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor approved for previously treated patients with metastatic renal cancer. The agent demonstrated a survival benefit in the large industry-sponsored international CheckMate 025 study, in which patients received nivolumab or everolimus and continued therapy indefinitely until loss of clinical benefit or intolerable toxicity.
