Current antiretroviral therapy (ART) regimens are associated with high rates of HIV suppression, but the durability of the treatment response is not known.
Now, investigators from the UK Collaborative HIV Cohort (UK CHIC) Study have reviewed data on more than 16,000 HIV-positive persons initiating ART between January 1998 and May 2013 to investigate the rate of first viral rebound, the factors associated with rebound, and the predicted long-term durability of HIV suppression.
