Although endemic measles was eliminated in the U.S. almost 2 decades ago, imported cases continue to cause sizeable local outbreaks. Oddly, though, clinicians might not think of measles as a travel-related illness. In this study, researchers evaluated measles immunization practices in a consortium of U.S. travel clinics where patients seeking pretravel health advice are evaluated and treated with a standardized history and care algorithm. About 41,000 adults who were seen in these clinics from 2009 through 2014 were born after 1957 and therefore were at potential risk for having imperfect measles immunity.
