Recent evidence shows that endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) is superior to standard polypectomy methods for endoscopic resection of serrated lesions 10 to 20 mm in size. For polyps considered small (6–9 mm), recent studies compare the superiority of cold snare versus traditional hot snare polypectomy (with variable results showing equivalence or superiority for traditional hot snare). The current randomized, controlled study is the first to compare cold snare polypectomy with EMR for resecting small lesions.
