A meta-analysis of patient level data led to a nomogram to predict seizure recurrence and long-term seizure freedom.
Investigators performed a meta-analysis of outcomes following discontinuation of antiseizure medicines in seizure-free patients, securing individual patient data from 10 of 45 eligible studies to create an algorithm for determining the risk for seizure recurrence.
From 22 previously noted risk factors for recurrence, the authors identified 8 that contribute to a nomogram that provides a good fit for the seizure recurrence data.
