Researchers performed a prospective, multicenter, observational study to evaluate the utility of several termination of resuscitation (TOR) rules in out-of-hospital cardiac arrests (OHCAs) in Japan between January 2012 and March 2013. The authors note the unique setting in Japan, where prehospital providers cannot independently terminate resuscitation and thus must transport all OHCA patients.
