The original Endocuff was a hood that fit over the colonoscope tip and had two rings of soft, flexible fingers that were used to flatten haustral folds and improve mucosal exposure during colonoscopy withdrawal. Most randomized, controlled trials of Endocuff suggest improved detection. The original Endocuff is no longer commercially available and has been replaced in the U.S. by similar devices with only one ring of fingers that are longer than those of the original device.
