Most current endoscopic quality efforts focus on detection of precancerous colorectal lesions. But recent evidence indicates an up to threefold variation among experienced endoscopists in rates of incomplete resection of colorectal polyps. Now, investigators have conducted a prospective observational study to assess which elements of effective polypectomy varied among 13 experienced colonoscopists who had their colonoscopy procedures video recorded. The participants were aware of the recording equipment in the endoscopy room, but not of its purpose.
