Peri- and postmenopausal women with hot flashes (VMS) also often suffer from insomnia, and women with VMS often also have increased insomnia severity and frequency. To learn more about possible insomnia treatments, researchers in the MsFLASH Network have now performed a secondary analysis of data from four randomized, controlled clinical trials in women experiencing moderately bothersome VMS.
One study targeted sleep difficulties, randomizing individuals to cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I; 6 telephone sessions) or menopause education (control).
