Endocuff Vision (EV) is the second generation of the Endocuff, a distal colonoscope attachment designed to improve mucosal exposure. In a randomized, multicenter trial in the U.K., over 1700 patients underwent colonoscopy with or without EV. More than half of invited patients were excluded or refused to participate. Results were as follows:
Overall, the adenoma detection rate (ADR) was significantly increased with EV (41% vs. 36%).
There was no difference in detection in large adenomas.
Sessile serrated polyp detection was increased with EV (2% vs. 1%).
Median cecal insertion time was shorter with EV (8 vs. 9 minutes).
