In a prior phase II trial (CheckMate 142), the anti-PD-1 agent nivolumab demonstrated activity in patients with microsatellite instability (MSI)-high or DNA mismatch repair (dMMR)-deficient metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC; NEJM JW Oncol Hematol Oct 2017 and Lancet Oncol 2017 Sep; 18:1182).
Investigators have now conducted an industry-sponsored, international, multicenter, phase II trial to determine the potential benefit of combining nivolumab with the anti-CTLA-4 agent ipilimumab for the complete population of CheckMate 142 patients with MSI-high/dMMR-deficient CRC.
