Limited data are available on Alzheimer disease (AD) biomarkers in clinical practice. Researchers investigated the utility of fluoride-18 florbetaben amyloid positron emission tomography (PET) imaging in Dutch patients undergoing evaluation for dementia, mild cognitive impairment (MCI), or subjective cognitive decline. Suspected etiology (AD vs. non-AD), diagnostic confidence on a scale of 0 to 100, and patient treatment were determined pre- and post-PET scan. PET imaging was visually assessed by a nuclear medicine specialist blinded to clinical information. Exploratory measures included patient's motivation for participation, PET scan experiences, anxiety, and uncertainty.
