The new 1-L polyethylene glycol (PEG) bowel preparation for colonoscopy, NER1006 (marketed as Plenvu), was compared with standard low-volume solutions in three industry-funded, phase III trials. The results of one trial were previously reported (NEJM JW Gastroenterol Oct 2017 and Gastrointest Endosc 2018; 87:677). Investigators in Europe now report the results of the other two trials.
In one study involving over 800 participants, evening/morning split-dose and morning-only NER1006 regimens were each noninferior to 2-L PEG-plus-ascorbate.
