Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is generally considered to have a more favorable prognosis than acute coronary syndrome (ACS). However, its true long-term prognosis is not completely understood, and the relations between triggering factors for TTS and outcomes is unknown. To better understand TTS, researchers analyzed data on 1613 patients with TTS from the International Takotsubo Registry.
As in previous analyses, almost all TTS patients were women (90%), with an even higher percentage among those with emotional triggers (95%).
