Universal testing of colorectal tumors for Lynch syndrome (LS) is advocated by several professional organizations, in part because clinical risk assessment tools miss a significant proportion of cases. Minority populations have been underrepresented in LS studies, and the impact of universal tumor testing in such populations is not known.
In the current retrospective study, investigators at four academic medical centers examined universal tumor testing among 767 patients with colorectal cancer (CRC); 52% were non-Hispanic white, 26% African American, and 17% Hispanic.
