Surveillance endoscopy for atrophic gastritis with intestinal metaplasia or after endoscopic resection of an early gastric cancer is a common practice in many areas of the world with a high prevalence of gastric cancer. Current endoscopic screening is imperfect as early disease can be missed on white-light imaging (WLI). Blue laser imaging (BLI)-bright is a new image-enhanced endoscopy modality with two laser wavelengths that allow for narrow-band light imaging.
