Over the past few years, several devices have become available to help endoscopists augment polyp detection by increasing mucosal exposure during colonoscopy. The G-EYE device is a balloon integrated into a standard colonoscope and is inflated during withdrawal to flatten colonic folds. A previous tandem colonoscopy study showed that G-EYE use was associated with a lower adenoma miss rate compared with standard colonoscopy (NEJM JW Gastroenterol May 2015 and Endoscopy 2015; 47:238).
