Transplantation with a uterus from a living donor has a high success rate but requires the donor to undergo an arduous operation similar to a radical hysterectomy. Accordingly, clinicians in Brazil explored the feasibility of transplanting a uterus from a brain-dead donor.
In this case report, a 45-year-old woman with three previous vaginal births suffered a massive stroke that rendered her brain-dead.
