Although most studies have demonstrated the benefits of alcohol septal ablation (ASA) for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM), few data exist on long-term safety, and this has limited its application, particularly among relatively young patients. In a large, single-center study, German investigators report on the long-term outcomes of echocardiography-guided ASA in 952 patients (mean age, 56; age range, 15–82; 59% men) treated between 2000 and 2017.
