Lumen-apposing metal stents (LAMS) are approved for the access and drainage of pancreatic fluid collections (PFCs), including pseudocysts and walled-off pancreatic necrosis. LAMS are also widely used for a plethora of off-label indications, such as entero-enteric anastomoses, gallbladder drainage, and bile duct drainage. One of the most widely adopted off-label uses of LAMS is as a treatment for benign strictures of the esophagus, stomach, small bowel, and colon. The devices are well suited to these applications given their short stent lengths.
