The demonstrated link between children's social context and later health outcomes has led to development of screening tools to identify risk factors related to a child's social determinants of health (SDOH). Researchers performed a systematic review of 17 peer-reviewed articles describing the use of 11 different SDOH screening tools in pediatric clinical settings.
Among the findings:
Parents or other caregivers provided the information for all screens.
Age ranges of patients screened varied from 0 to 5, 10, or 18 years.
