The BMJ recently published a trial that compares amoxicillin with placebo for people with chronic low back pain. The medical community has responded with snark, but Dr. Paul Sax sees it differently. He defends the trial in his latest HIV and ID Observations blog post, writing, “This is exactly the sort of practical, hypothesis-testing trial I wish we'd see more often.”
