Rates of HIV viral suppression remain below the 2020 UNAIDS target of 90% in much of sub-Saharan Africa even in regions with widespread availability of combination antiretroviral therapy (cART). In this study, researchers conducted a cross-sectional analysis of baseline data (socioeconomic, clinical, and adherence) to identify factors associated with unsuppressed viremia (defined as >200 copies/mL) among women on chronic cART (for at least 1–5 years) in the PROMOTE cohort study, at eight PEPFAR-supported sites in Uganda, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and South Africa.
