British guidelines addressing colonoscopy and other modalities for surveillance were first published in 2002 and updated in 2010. The current update takes into account the introduction of the British national bowel cancer screening program and incorporates surveillance of patients following resection of either adenomatous or serrated polyps. The broad aims are to provide guidance regarding the appropriate selection of patients for surveillance postpolypectomy and post–colorectal-cancer-(CRC)-resection, surveillance intervals, and when to stop.
