Enhancing the capacity to track influenza could help public health agencies in implementing interventions to limit the impact of this disease. The last decade has seen the introduction of smartwatches and similar wearable technologic sensors that continuously track individual physiologic measurements. Researchers have now collaborated with one company to assess whether data from such devices might improve influenza surveillance.
