The spread to many parts of the world of the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 is raising many questions and some fears. The virus is very contagious and seems to be horizontally transmitted, primarily by droplet infection. These authors describe a single case in which the potential vertical spread from mother to infant was anticipated. Measures to minimize the chances of such spread were employed during delivery, and detection of such transmission was attempted.
