The first reported case of COVID-19 in the U.S., which involved a recent traveler from China, was reported on January 20, 2020, in Snohomish County, Washington. In late February 2020, an outbreak of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities in King County, Washington, was reported. Now, two articles describe the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and outcomes in two of these facilities.
