Recent evidence suggests that prophylactic clipping can reduce postpolypectomy bleeding after resection of large colorectal lesions, but uncertainty remains regarding its overall efficacy. Now, investigators report results of a meta-analysis of 9 randomized, controlled trials of clipping after polypectomy, including 4557 participants with 7197 colorectal polyps. Mean polyp size was 18.6 mm overall and ranged from 7.8 mm to 37.3 mm across studies, and 49% were located in the proximal colon. Meta-analysis revealed the following:
