The majority of COVID-19 patients present with respiratory symptoms, but little is known about the liver-related manifestations of the infection.
To characterize liver injury during COVID-19 infection, investigators conducted a retrospective study of 148 consecutive COVID-19 patients admitted and treated at a single center in Shanghai, China, between January 20 and January 31, 2020. Patient outcomes were followed through February 19, 2020, during which time data were collected on clinical features, medication use, and laboratory parameters, including liver tests.
