Each successive cesarean delivery is associated with higher maternal morbidity; however, data are limited regarding cumulative effects on neonatal morbidity. Investigators in the U.S. conducted a retrospective cohort study of >7.8 million singleton deliveries from 2012 to 2016 in women with at least one prior term delivery. Frequency of birth at each gestational week from 35 to 42 weeks was determined in 1.1 million women with ≥1 previous cesarean delivery compared with 6.7 million having solely vaginal deliveries.
