Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is much less common than arterial ischemic stroke and tends to occur in younger patients and in those with hypercoagulable states. Systemic anticoagulation is recommended for CVT patients. However, because some patients have poor outcomes, including death, the use of endovascular therapy (EVT) has been explored in single-center studies. Now, investigators present results of a multicenter, randomized, open-label, blinded-endpoint study comparing EVT plus medical therapy with medical therapy alone.
