This case series describes 91 children (age <18 years) with confirmed COVID-19 from 20 hospitals and 2 nonhospital isolation facilities in South Korea during February 18 to March 31, 2020. Children were tested if they were symptomatic, were linked to an outbreak, had close contact with confirmed cases, or had traveled from abroad. Repeated testing for SARS-CoV-2 by real-time PCR was performed over a mean follow-up of 22 days.
Findings include:
Children were most commonly infected by a household contact (63%).
22% of cases were asymptomatic, 51% mild (no radiographic findings), 22% moderate (radiographic findings), and only 2% severe (radiographic findings with oxygen requirement).
