Although Dieulafoy lesions (DLs) are an unusual cause of upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB), they are responsible for approximately 10% of severe UGIB cases, in which rebleeding is not uncommon. In the current retrospective study, investigators evaluated the impact of Doppler endoscopic probe (DEP)–guided therapy compared with standard visually guided hemostasis on 30-day DL-related rebleeding.
The study cohort comprised 82 patients with DL-related severe UGIB receiving treatment from a group of experts in endoscopic hemostasis over several decades.
