Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) reflects a syndrome of endothelial injury associated with thrombocytopenia, mechanical hemolysis, and organ insult (kidney, brain, heart). Such findings can be observed in pregnancy, warranting urgent treatment. Now, an international, multidisciplinary panel has provided practical guidance for pregnancy TMA, including thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) and pregnancy-associated hemolytic uremic syndrome (p-HUS).
