Several countries around the world, and some healthcare organizations in the U.S., employ fecal immunochemical testing (FIT) for programmatic large-scale screening for colorectal cancer (CRC). In this study, investigators in Taiwan report the incidence of advanced-stage CRC (stage II or higher) and CRC-related mortality among 3 million older adults (age range, 50–69) who underwent FIT screening (offered biennially) from 2004 to 2009 and were followed through 2014. About half of the cohort underwent ≥2 screenings.
