Microsatellite instability (MSI) in stage II colon cancer is associated with a high rate of survival after surgical management without adjuvant therapy. The impact of MSI in stage III colon cancer is less clear, with current treatment guidelines recommending adjuvant therapy with a fluorinated pyrimidine (FP) and oxaliplatin.
To evaluate the impact of MSI status in patients with stage III colon cancer receiving adjuvant therapy, researchers conducted a pooled analysis of 12 randomized trials included in the ACCENT database.
