Quality of care in transcatheter aortic-valve replacement (TAVR) is currently measured by volume thresholds or arbitrarily chosen complications. These authors report the methodology and first results of an approach using clinically based benchmarking of quality of care, developed from data in the STS/ACC TVT Registry (which includes all patients undergoing commercial procedures for transcatheter valve replacement and repair in the U.S.).
