For secondary stroke prevention, the benefits of combination therapy with aspirin/clopidogrel or aspirin/ticagrelor over aspirin alone are concentrated in the first hours, days, and weeks after an index stroke. In contrast, the benefits of combination therapy with cilostazol (cilostazol/aspirin or cilostazol/clopidogrel; cDAPT) over aspirin or clopidogrel alone seem to develop over longer timescales that are measured in months.
